Information about the speaker: Dr Yaroslav Kuzmin is a senior researcher at the Sobolev Institute of Geology & Mineralogy, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk, Russia). He is an geoarchaeologist, with multiple research interests in Late Quaternary environments. This includes radiocarbon dating of megafauna and humans in the Late Pleistocene, human-environment interaction and chronology of prehistoric cultural complexes in East Asia, the emergence of agriculture and maritime adaptation in Northeast Asia (mainly Russian Far East), palaeodiet based on stable isotopes, and provenance of obsidian arfefacts.
