Distinguished Lecture by Katerina Harvati-Papatheodorou: "Neanderthals and early modern humans: New results from the lab and field"

Crucial questions in current paleoanthropological research include the timing and place of origin of modern humans, the mode and tempo of their dispersal across the Old World, their interactions with other hominins, such as Neanderthals, and the reasons for the eventual Neanderthal demise. Prof. Harvati will present new results from her lab and field research that directly address these questions and aim to test our hypotheses about the latest phases of human evolution.
