Curriculum Vitae

Óscar R. Solís-Torres is a Ph.D. candidate in the “Estudios Mesoamericanos” Programm at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He holds a Master of Philosophy (Quaternary and Prehistory) from the Universitat Roivira i Virgili, Tarragona, Spain, (Fundación Atapuerca fellowship). Has participated in underwater cave explorations in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, and in national and international conferences. His research focuses on human-animal relationships and cultural evolution; using the resulting analysis in future predictions about human responses to climate changes, migrations and the impact of new technologies in the environmental settings. Currently looking at a faunal assemblage recovered from southeastern Mexico, to expand the understanding of human-animal relationships in this tropical environment during the last 12,000 years, by applying scientific methodologies, such as the stable isotope analysis and taphonomy.
