We are delighted by the huge amount of interest in the Quantitative Methods Spring School. We are currently finalising the short list and expect to contact the successful applicants soon.

WHERE + WHEN		May 8th–14th 2017 Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History Jena, Germany
FOR		The QMSS is for postgraduate and early-career researchers studying linguistic and cultural evolution and the sciences of human history.
LEARN		Software pipelines + databases, basic and advanced statistics, phylogenetic tree inference, comparative methods, simulation techniques, data visualisation, and asking good research questions.
DO		Five days of residential training in a range of methods from expert tutors. You’ll cover theoretical and conceptual material, do hands-on practical exercises using R, and get expert feedback on your own research.

HOW TO APPLY

Places are competitive by application and limited to 15 students. All your on-site accommodation and economy travel will be covered.
