Dr. Asier García-Escárzaga

Research Associate

Main Focus

Research of García-Escárzaga main focus on deciphering subsistence strategies and the human behaviour of the mesolithic populations in northern Iberian Peninsula (10.5 - 6.7 ka cal BP). This researcher also focus on better undertand the impact of the abrupt climate changes ocurred at the Early Holocene in this littoral area, as for example the 8.2 ka cal BP cold event. To achieve these goals, García-Escárzaga applies stable oxygen isotope ratio and trace elements  ratio analyses on marine mollusc shells.

Curriculum Vitae

Asier Garcia-Escarzaga obtained two academic dregrees in Prehistoric Archaeology at Complutense University of Madrid (MSc: 2013) and at the university of Cantabria (DPhil: 2018).
