Iván Ramírez Pedraza

Research Associate
Department of Archaeology

Main Focus

His PhD project, supervised by Dr. Florent Rivals and Dr. Carlos Tornero, is focused on the multi-proxy analyses for paleoenvironmental reconstruction during the Early-Middle Pleistocene in Morocco, with the aim of performing a diachronic high-resolution framework related to the ecological context of the early hominin in North Africa.

In this landscape reconstruction, he is combining different techniques based on biogeochemical principles such as the analysis of stable isotopes (δ13C and δ18O) and the dental meso- and microwear analysis applied to faunal remains.

During his career he has participated in several fieldworks in Spain, Morocco and Chile.
