
About the library
The library of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History is a scientific research library and the central information resource of the institute. Researchers and visiting fellows of our institute may use the complete services of the library 24 hours a day. The librarians are available from Monday to Thursday 8.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. and on Friday 8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.
Currently the collection comprises about 17,000 books. Additionally you have access to about 30,000 electronic journals in the Electronic Journal Library. The library’s book collection is complemented by online databases which provide full-text access to primary and secondary sources worldwide. The online catalogue OPAC lists the entire literature holdings of the library including books, journals as well as all articles published by the members of our institute.
